Delete your Amori account
Amori · com.eclipticrick.amori · developer: eclipticrick
Delete your account in the app
- Open Amori and go to Settings, then the Account section, and tap Delete account. If you have not connected with a partner yet, the same option is at the bottom of the Connect with your partner screen.
- Read what will happen, take a copy of your archive if you want one, then type delete to confirm.
- Sign in once more when asked. An account is never deleted from a session somebody left open.
It happens immediately. There is no waiting period, no grace period and no way to undo it.
If you cannot open the app
Email eclipticrick@gmail.com from the address you sign in with, with the subject Delete my Amori account, and it will be done for you within 30 days. If you sign in with Apple and used Hide My Email, send it from that relay address or include it in the message, so the account can be identified.
What is deleted
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your account and sign-in | Deleted immediately. You can no longer sign in, and the account cannot be restored. |
| Your email address | Deleted immediately, with your account record. |
| Your devices and notification tokens | Deleted immediately. Nothing can send a notification to your phones afterwards. |
| Your couple | Ends immediately. Your partner is told that the couple has ended, in fixed wording, there is no message you can send with it, and they are told the same thing whichever of you ends it. |
| Everything the two of you shared, photos, statuses, timeline entries, profiles | Frozen immediately: read-only for both of you, with nothing live left. Deleted 30 days later for both of you, from the database and from photo storage alike. See below. |
| Your partner's account | Kept. Only they can delete it, the same way. |
Why the shared archive waits 30 days
The photos and messages the two of you exchanged are not only yours. Destroying them the moment one person presses a button would erase the other person's memories with no warning and no chance to keep a copy, so the shared archive is frozen instead and both of you can read and export it for 30 days. After that it is deleted for both of you.
This is the same thing that happens when either of you simply ends the couple without closing an account.
Taking a copy first
Amori can write everything the two of you kept onto your phone, the photos into your photo library, plus a file holding every status, caption, date and description. It is offered as a step while you delete your account, and it is also available at any time under Settings › Account › Export your archive. A copy you have exported is yours and stays on your phone; deleting your account does not reach it.
How long it takes, and what is kept afterwards
Your account itself goes immediately. The shared archive is deleted within 30 days. Nothing is retained after that except where the law requires it, and Amori keeps no billing or transaction records because the app is free and takes no payments.
Backups held by the underlying service providers (Google Firebase, Cloudflare R2) may retain copies for a short period before they expire on their own schedules. These are not readable in the app and are not used for anything.
Deleting one thing instead of everything
Your status can be cleared at any time inside the app, and any photo you posted can be deleted from the story archive under Settings › Story archive, that removes it for both of you. You can also end the couple without closing your account, from Settings › The two of you, which freezes the shared archive on exactly the terms described above.
